Rob Darwin, joined the club in March 2009, following time employed as Assistant Professional at Royal Birkdale, venue of numerous Open Championships. At Moor Park he follows in the footsteps of Open Champions Sandy Herd and Arthur Havers, plus well-known professionals Lawrence Farmer and Ross Whitehead, all former Head Professionals at Moor Park.
The coaching team can provide all the services necessary to improve your game, from beginner through to professional level. We offer a whole game improvement approach and assess all aspects of the modern golfer including swing technique, on-course tactics and golf fitness. Junior Academy |
The studio is equipped with C-swing software, which allows you to see your golf swing from several different angles and compare your swing to the tour professionals. C-swing uses simple drawing tools and slow motion technology to help you gain a better understanding of your golf swing by highlighting faults and addressing changes that need to be made. Seeing your swing on video has been proven to accelerate learning, improving your technique and lowering your scores.
We can provide you with detailed analysis of your putting technique using the TOMI system. This system uses motion analysis software to provide critical information detailing the dynamics of your putting stroke including;
- your clubface alignment at address and during impact
- the path of your putting stroke
- the putter face rotation during the stroke
- the impact point on the putter face
- the angle of attack on the ball
- the stroke tempo and speed.
Identifying faults often not seen by the naked eye and obtaining the vital data required to create a better forward roll, leads to more birdies and fewer putts!
Titleist Performance Institute, (TPI), is the world’s leading performance enhancement institute. They are the leading researchers in golf fitness and understand the importance of preparing your body to shoot lower scores, and to prevent injury caused through playing golf.
Our Head Professional, Rob Darwin, is a qualified TPI fitness instructor and understands how limitations in your physical attributes can affect your golf swing and ultimately your scores. After an initial assessment, we will design a personal six week fitness programme tailored to your needs. Why be fit for golf? Committing yourself to golf fitness training will keep you not only physically fitter, but also mentally fitter. It will allow you to concentrate for longer on your game and not ruin a good score over the closing holes.
In addition to the tuition available, Moor Park has excellent practice facilities including a chipping green with bunkers, practice nets, putting green and a driving range with a covered area, where lessons can take place in all weather.
