Ladies’ Locker Room

Last Thursday the Ladies’ Locker Room was formally opened by the Lady Captain, Dawn Cull, assisted by Sarah MacAlpine and Penny Cawood. These musketeers were instrumental in the design and styling of the room. The actual work was carried out in-house by our excellent maintenance team. They overcame many problems to finish the work in such style. Tricia has inspected the room on my behalf and has declared that it looks lovely. Many thanks to all who were involved and well done.

The evening starts with supper at 6.00pm followed by Bridge. I shall attempt to play, but I have already given my apologies to my partner who has very kindly said she will put up with me. Details of how to book are below.

Mother’s Day Carvery

This ever popular event is on Sunday 31st March. There will be two sittings, as always: 12:00-2:00 and 2:30-5:00. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

Moor Park Trivia

Thomas Bates-Rouse, a director of the East India Company, bought Moor Park in 1785. He levelled the colonnades to the left between the Mansion and the stables, and also those to the right of the Mansion where the tennis courts are now, which were the servants’ quarters. In atonement for this vandalism he built the Orangery. He died in 1799 and is buried in Rickmansworth Church Yard.
