Tennis Club News
Captain’s Day Tournament 7th July. This had to be cancelled due to the heat but probably more importantly the football! Instead Anna Barone, a member of the Club since 1996, joined a few members for social tennis in the morning. Anna has resigned from the Club. She has organised our Hot Rackets, Watford and District and Winter League Matches with great success and the photo below shows Anna receiving her gifts from Chairman Huw Walters. We are hoping to persuade Anna to rejoin in the near future. We then joined the Club Captain,John Grossman, for refreshments which were greatly appreciated.
We are hoping to reschedule the Tournament at a later date so watch this space
Watford and District Mixed League. They had another good win 6-3 against Northwood which means they are top of the Division at present with 2 more matches to play. Well done to all the players. The date of the next match is 5th July.
All members who have signed up to one or more of the Club Tournaments, please visit the Tennis Pavilion where the Draw Sheets are situated. Entry fees are £5 for Adults and £2 for Juniors and should be given to Anjan Chowhdury who is organising the Tournaments. Any queries, please contact Anjan.
Court Cleaning: a reminder to members that the synthetic grass courts will be cleaned on 18th July. There should be very little disruption as work will start early.
